Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced an exciting new partnership with Spiro, Africa’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer, to launch his own line of electric bikes tailored for the continent.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Davido emphasized that this initiative aims to empower motorcycle riders while providing a Made-in-Africa solution to the continent’s transportation challenges.
He stated, “Manifestation is spiritual. Years ago, I claimed 30 BG, but it wasn’t just about success – it was about purpose. Today, I’m transforming that vision into something bigger: generational wealth and ownership. With my own line of electric bikes, in partnership with Spiro, we’re not just building a product – we’re building a movement.”
Highlighting the significance of the motorcycle market in Africa, Davido noted, “The bike market is more than transportation; it’s the backbone of our economy. Over 27 million motorcycles power the dreams and hustle of our people, with 80% of riders relying on bikes for their livelihoods.”
He also expressed gratitude towards motorcycle riders, known as Okada riders in Nigeria, for their crucial role in his career. Davido sees this partnership as an opportunity to give back and promote sustainable transportation. “These same Okada drivers, who have supported me throughout my career, are now at the center of this vision. They moved my music, my name, and my story across every corner of Nigeria and Africa. Now it’s time to give back,” he wrote.
